Leonie was powered by TensorFlow. Google's Tensorflow cannot be hosted in-house so all the data has to be on the google servers (over the ocean). This fact has disadvantages, so we migrated to an other framework, called Rasa.

The whole Leonie project was deployed in the LeoCloud (HTL Leonding's Kubernetes Cluster). This deployment has a lot of advantages, some of them being high availability, scalability and easier deployment. Also, new AI models for Leonie are also trained in the LeoCloud.
Sept, 2022
The recent release of the ChatGPT Conversational AI Model presented itself as an opportunity to improve Leonie. If Leonie can not predict the intent of the user, the message is redirected to OpenAI's ChatGPT which delivers an answer to almost any question.
March, 2023
As a new feature, a new form of appearance was implemented. Users can now directly chat with leonie on the school homepage. The features of an existing Diploma Thesis Project were adopted and Leonie 2D came to life.

Until now, Leonie's brain (rasa) was hosted on 3 different servers for each of the 3 appearance forms (3d,2d,holo). The decision was made to merge those 3 rasa servers into one. The merge brought up difficulties like permissions (what questions each appearance is allowed to answer).
